about
mask #3: youth
i wrote this after going to my dad's house one night. i was microwaving a cup of water so i could make tea, but i realized that i had to duck down a little bit when i was inputting how long i wanted to microwave the water. the last time i used that microwave i didn't need to bend down to use it - because i was much younger.
this is also a marker in the tape where things begin to get less heavy - both emotionally and in a literal musical sense. the gradient begins to lighten up a bit.
lyrics
did i do it or not?
did i manufacture
all these things
in my thoughts
the sun will set
with my eyes
but it won't rise
with them too
somehow
i feel my hair going gray
somehow
i struggle acting my age
it's not okay
(speaking this way tonight)
somehow
i cannot sleep at night
somehow
i cannot open my eyes
it's not okay
(speaking this way tonight)
it's not okay
but i'll be alright
did i pave it or not?
or is this road i paved
just i work in progress
aging isn't a quarrel
it's far more
it's a massacre
