this is the first time that we wrote a hidden places song where it didn't feel like a "hidden places song." my feelings toward it changed every time i heard it, now it's one of my favorite songs that we're written thus far.

every time i read a tombstone of someone i once knew, it feels very intimate. it's like reading a book and reading the words of a character that you're fond of--it brings subtle comfort knowing that a character you enjoy still exists within the universe you're holding in your hands.

reinforcement of existence is a beautiful thing, whether it's physical or not
